Outcome of wind farm hearing could lead to green collar jobs
Green collar jobs may be created in Scotland, should plans to build a wind farm go ahead.
According to the BBC, a hearing will be held next Tuesday (February 9th) to determine the future of the project.
A total of 22 wind turbines have been proposed for the site near Dunbeath in Caithness.
North Wales-based West Coast Energy is behind the plans and the news source noted that the company has received nearly 800 letters of support.
Power is to be supplied to a local sub-station and carbon emissions are expected to be reduced if it is given the go-ahead, helping the government meet climate change targets.
Dunbeath community centre is to be the venue for the hearing, which will be held by the planning applications committee for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross.
West Energy was established in 1996 and currently operates a number of wind farms throughout the UK.
